Sensory Integration for babies and toddlers

At Sensory Spot, we love helping little humans reach their potential and grow into the person they are destined to be.

Sensory Integration for babies and toddlers

At Sensory Spot we are passionate about working with young children. A baby begins to experience its world and develops new awareness through sight, touch, taste, smell, and hearing which is why sensory integration for babies and toddlers is so important.

Sensory Integration for babies and toddlers can assist with the following:

Babies leaving the NICU that require a follow up appointment at 2, 4, 8 and 12 weeks, as well as 6 months.

Children who are struggling to integrate their senses may present as fussy or lethargic, they may struggle to sleep or are unable to self-soothe after 3 months, they may be sensitive to material or clothing, they may present as ‘floppy’; and they may also show a strong dislike towards foods or tastes.

Children who are delayed in rolling, sitting, crawling, walking or children who may present as having poor muscle tone and/or have jerky or asymmetrical use of arms and legs.

Moms and Dads that are struggling to engage, relate and communicate with their child. DIRFloortime is beneficial to children who struggle with eye contact, struggle to self-soothe, don’t respond and engage with you during play, who don’t initiate interaction or closeness (hugs and kisses) or who struggle to understand pretend play and social turn-taking.
